A bag in the right colour for your season will work with almost everything in a well-edited wardrobe. A bag in the wrong colour, no matter how beautiful it is on its own, will quietly work against most things you own.
Why bags are one of the safest places to borrow colours
Bags sit further from your face than almost any other accessory. Because they aren't directly against your skin, the temperature and depth of the colour matter much less. This makes bags one of the most forgiving categories for trying colours outside your usual season.
That said, an everyday bag that you carry constantly is doing quiet work in every outfit. Getting your two or three core bags right, in colours that are firmly in or compatible with your palette, makes a real difference to how pulled-together your wardrobe feels.
Springs: warm, clear, and versatile
Spring types need bags that are warm in tone. Luckily, warm neutrals are some of the most versatile bag colours you can find.

Summers: cool, dusty, and refined
Summer types need bags that are cool in tone and relatively soft in depth. Rich, warm leather shades like cognac, tan, or caramel will pull against your cool undertone in a way that feels off, even if you can't put your finger on why.

Winters: cool, deep, and structural
